Hello my people! Ehen! We are back on board. Welcome from the election break that seems so long (or maybe still on, because of the gubernatorial election by the corner). I have always mentioned that no matter the outcome, life continues. I only hope that people don’t get too shady or shitty these last few days because if you do, you’ll have yourself to blame. But that’s by the way.

So, Artpadonu wrote a piece on an artwork (Boomerang) a long time ago (2017). It is in fact, part of the artworks i displayed during his introduction. The few words employed in creating the piece, resonate  with me even today  and I am inspired to make a post about it. In his words, It is a:

Special dedication to my older sister (Boluwatife) and her 3 weeks old daughter (Morewaoluwa);

Meanwhile, Morewa is a big girl now.

Here is The Piece – Boomerang

The fruit of the womb is not to be devoured,

It’s a treasure to be treasured;

The beauty that enhances continuity of humanity.

To Bolutife Padonu; your journey began

When you crawled out of mama’s womb to school,

You grew into a woman that knew a man,

Now your journey has BOOMERANGED;

Your daughter, Morewa is in your starting point.

Exactly where you started from,

She’ll crawl to school,

Believe me your journey to womanhood she’ll replicate.

And to Morewa’s future daughter(s);

Mummy has just crawled out of mummy,

the same way you’ll crawl out of Mummy,

at this point mummy’s mummy will be your grandma.

When that time comes, I hope to add more colours to your skin.

This is where we are today,

Let it be that every man appreciates

The gift of his wife, daughter, mother, sister and womanhood at large

 And teach your sons and brothers to replicate your goodness.

Dedicated to every mother and their daughters.

Morewaoluwa; grow in peace, love, wisdom, all in goodness and to greatness, your light shall shine beyond human comprehension. I LOVE YOU; for you’ve made me an uncle.

Further more, he said:

To every new mother and daughter; I celebrate you the way I’ll celebrate mine someday soon. Art is dynamic and I’m not just a painter.

Please, share with any new Mother/daughter you know. Gracias.
