Hello Becca Diaries lovers, how are you all doing today? Our last conversation was around the need to have a Vision Board. I’m sure the New year rush is over now, and we all are seriously trying to set goals and not resolutions. But before then, you need to have the right attitude.

Do you still Procrastinate?

Procrastination is a thief of time. It makes you very comfortable while achieving nothing and hoping a later time is the best time. That time never comes.

To stop procrastination…

You’ve got to accept that you procrastinate, only then, you can stop it.

  • So;
  • Forgive yourself for the time lost (Don’t be too hard on yourself)
  • Be deliberate henceforth
  • Break things into tiny bits (Do not bite more than you can chew and remember you’re human, not a machine). Doing little things per time helps to be efficient.
  • Try working with a check-list on monthly basis broken into weekly/daily achievable plans. This daily breakdown can be checked at the end of each week. This gives you some sort of self-assessment.
  • Below are samples of my Daily and Weekly checklists.

For me, the checklist (sample) above is designed around definite activities i do daily/weekly. Besides these, i also have a To-do list which are basic itemization of tasks. Mind you, these tasks come in their numbers and are almost impossible to group. They are rather further breakdown of the checklist, because they ultimately help you achieve your goals – in the tiniest bits.

Take Risks – Don’t chicken out

In order to actualize the pictures on your vision board, you also need to have the attitude of taking risks. Nothing good comes easy and even though ‘the world is an oyster, you can’t break it open on your mattress’ – as Chinue Achebe said in his “Anthills of the Savannah”. So guys, you’ve got to go out and try out.

Be Audacious

The vision board is a representation of the many chapters of our lives interwoven into one. Once you master the art of taking risks, then, be audacious. To be audacious is to be confident and have a strong conviction in whatever you do. You already have a plan on ground or about to create one, go for it, put it up there and leave it. don’t be too scared that it won’t come. Nobody gets its done that way.

Be Affirmative

Positive mindset is very important. You have to call it into being. Say it like you mean it and watch the manifestations thereafter. BUT you’ve also got to do something.

Tomorrow, we will be discussing what it takes (step-by-step) to create a Vision Board.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
